2 Non-toxic Must-Haves That You Can Get At Target

Finding products that are truly clean and non-toxic at your local grocery store can be a challenge - but they do exist! Don’t let a little green leaf or the words “organic” or “natural” fool you. Turn that product over and READ THE INGREDIENTS friends. Even better, download an app like Think Dirty and scan it to see just how truly clean that product is...or isn’t.

Today, I wanted to share 2 of my favorite non-toxic products that you can grab on your next Target run.  Honestly, you could also Amazon Prime them too, but I just really enjoy long, romantic walks at Target.

First is Dr. Bronners Castile Soap. You can legit use this for soooo many things. They have scented versions (peppermint or almond are favorites of mine), but I really prefer to get the unscented so that I can add my own essential oils to it. So, what do we use it for? My favorite use is dish soap. This will get off ANYTHING that has been dried on, baked on or sat in the sink for too long before being rinsed out and now it’s plastered on. It’s super concentrated, so a little goes a long way. If you’ve got something on your dishes that doesn’t want to come off, add some of this soap and soak it in hot water overnight. Voila! I also love using this Castile soap as a handsoap base for my foaming hand soap . I get a foaming hand soap container, add about 4-5 tablespoons of Castile soap, add some essential oils and then fill the rest of the container up with water and give it a good shake. You could also use this as a base to make your own shower gel or body wash.

Next, I’m absolutely obsessed with Thayers Rose Witch Hazel! My main use for this is a skin toner. Using a skin toner after washing your face can remove debris like oil, dirt and traces of makeup. It can also help soothe, repair and smooth skin as well. It’s also a great way to prep your skin for any anti-aging serums or moisturizers that you may be putting on next. As a toner, I just put a little on a cotton pad and swipe all over my face after I wash it. I also make a refreshing face spray by putting some in a glass spray bottle and  add Tea Tree, Frankincense and Lavender essential oils for a little extra skin lovin boost.  Whether you add essential oils to it or not, it smells so luxurious and your face will thank you for it! Even better - in the summer, keep a small spray bottle of it in your refrigerator and spray it on your face and neck after you’ve been outside to help cool off and refresh your face.

Do you have some favorite non-toxic products that you’re able to find locally? If so, I’d love to hear about them!
