PiYo Week 4 definitely started out on a high note for me. I wanted to find a way to challenge myself even more this week.
The first workout of the week was Sweat. After we did our “warmup tricep pushups” on our knees, I thought to myself “I should try to do the rest of the tricep pushups in the workout on my toes.” and then I thought “HA! You fool. You’ll never be able to do that so don’t bother trying.” And then I told myself to shut up & that I was at least going to try. I busted out the first set with ease. A sly little smirk came across my face. Each set of tricep pushups got progressively harder & I was swearing a little (or a lot) by the end, but I was determined to do them all on my toes. I was determined to silence the negative voice and show myself that I could do them.
By the end of the week, I’d fallen ill & ended up in the ER Friday night. They ran a battery of tests and the doctor informed me that he couldn’t find anything wrong and that I’m a “very healthy young woman.” But he did recommend I rest. I followed his orders and spent Saturday in bed – which caused my back & neck to really tighten up. So, by Sunday, I NEEDED to move. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to go full force in my workouts, but my body needed to move. So, I popped Drench in for the first time. And let me tell you, it’s aptly named. It was absolutely comical watching the sweat literally streaming (not just dripping) off of me. Drench may be my new favorite. It’s a little longer than the other workouts, but in my opinion, it takes the best of all of the workouts and rolls them all into one. I continued to complete my workouts for the week, just taking it a little easier as I’m still a bit under the weather. So, while the week certainly didn’t go how I’d planned, I still consider it a success. I lost 2.2 pounds this week (9.2 pounds total) & am feeling really good about my progress. I can not properly express in words how freakin good my back feels after a month of PiYo – and only PiYo. PiYo is better (literally and figuratively) than any pain pill or muscle relaxer. My back is pain free 99% of the time. I have tears in my eyes as I write this because for years, I really wondered if I’d ever know what it would feel like to be pain free again. Especially after the excruciating pain that I was in at the end of last year & at the beginning of this year. I thought that living with that kind of pain was the “new normal” and that I’d just have to deal with it. Never in a million years did I think that PiYo would be thing to fix my back. I want to share this program with anyone and everyone who has ever had back pain because it’s truly been a lifesaver for me. We are nearing the month of July. As you may know, our PiYo Challenge Packs are on special this month. I’ve got a few spots left in my August Challenge Group and if you’d like to give PiYo a try, I’d love to have you join us. I’m even offering a little incentive. If you purchase a Challenge Pack in the month of July, you’ll be entered to win a prize pack from me. We are starting August 10, so let’s get you going TODAY!!! Month 2 of PiYo is now underway and I’ll continue to post my weekly progress and pictures to come in just 4 more weeks!!!
